Requesting closure

Use the deletion option in the app’s security area and confirm using the displayed workflow. If you cannot access the app, contact contact@kasapay.net with “Account closure” in the subject. Proportionate verification protects against third-party requests.

Timing and withdrawing the request

The planned process reviews requests after a thirty-day period. This does not guarantee processing on an exact date or erasure of all data. To withdraw your request, use the cancellation option if offered or contact contact@kasapay.net. Signing in alone does not guarantee cancellation.

Erasure and retention

Closure ends account use. It does not guarantee destruction of every file, log or backup after thirty days. Profile data may be deleted or pseudonymised while records needed for payments, compliance and disputes are retained with restricted access.

Pseudonymising profile data does not mean deleting payment records or documents subject to retention. True anonymisation prevents linking records back to the person. See privacy.

Pending payments

Existing instructions and refunds due remain tracked. Merchants must also handle payouts, returns and staff access. Closure cannot abandon transit funds or bypass mandatory retention.

Separate requests about personal data

You may exercise data rights without first closing the account. The planned thirty-day closure process does not replace the legal response requirements for a data-rights request. See privacy for the statutory framework, contact and retention limits. A closure request also does not certify that linked bank or mobile-money accounts have been closed at their institutions.
